“I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.” ~ Charles Dickens
It is always bittersweet when Christmas Day finally comes. All the excitement and anticipation has led up to this day and then suddenly it is done. We have to wait another three hundred plus days for it all to start again.
It isn’t just the preparation or the hustle and bustle, but the joy, the magic, the kumbiya that comes with this time of year. For a couple short months it seems like all is right with the world, even when it may not always be so.
There is a tentative peace. Everyone is friendlier, and all around happier. People seem more willing to help, and not be shut up in their laptops and iPhones. Where families and friends reunite and love for all beings everywhere is spread.
It truly is the most magical time of year. Where adults are kids, and children believe that all is possible, because it is.
As Dickens’ says it is a feeling that should be felt all year. Not just when we get swept up in the moment and the hype of the Christmas Season, but carry the joyful exuberance, and love in our hearts year round. That is what makes Christmas so special.
Merry Christmas! And Happy Holidays! I hope you all have an amazing joyful and loving day!
How are you spending the Holiday? What do you do to keep the feeling alive all year?
