In the last two weeks, there have been so many senseless violent acts, whether it is Istanbul, Dhaka, Baghdad, Baton Rouge or now Dallas. That is just in the last two weeks. it doesn’t even take into account Orlando, Belgium, Chicago, and all the cities and towns that have witnessed the “norm” whatever heartbreaking act it might be. Hate filled acts whether fueled by terrorism of religion, gender, race or culture.
On one hand, I feel utterly numb to it all. Every time I turn on the news or check my phone (where I get news updates) I wonder what more can humans do to each other. I don’t think I can be anymore shocked. And then I am.
Maybe I have my head up in the clouds. Maybe I am naive or to idealistic. But WE are better then this. US. All of us. Regardless of color, religion, gender, or country. US as humans.
We all have the power to love. Just as we all have the power to hate.
We have that choice.
What do we choose?
You?
Me?
What do we choose?
Because as humans. As people. We need to UNITE. We need to be one.
United we stand. Divided we will fall.
And we are falling.
As a country. As a world. As a civilization.
We need to stop. We need to love. We need to be that light. We need to be kind. We need to be compassionate. We need to be all that is good in the world.
We.
You and I.
Us.
Together.
Be that light.
Be that change.
