“Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting. It is happiness because we see joy in people. It is forgetting self and finding time for others. It is discarding the meaningless and stressing the true values.” ~ Thomas S. Monson
Happy Blogmas friends!
Now that we all need a vacay from our vacay and are stuffed full AND shopped all out. Okay I didn’t shop, but I looked for ALL the deals and ALL the best gifts for you guys! Anywho it is OFFICIALLY not just the Christmas season, but BLOGMAS!!!! Eeeeek!
I feel like Will Ferrell in Elf screaming “Santa’s coming!” I am so flipping excited to take part in Blogmas again this year! Last year was definitely a little crazy, but I was so proud of myself because I did post every single day. I am hoping this year I will be a little more organized, I am already feeling more organized, so we will see how it goes. It is 2020 after all!
What is Blogmas?
For those who don’t know what Blogmas is, it is essentially 25 days of Christmas blog posts. Some bloggers have described it as an Advent calendar for bloggers and in many ways they would be right. There is also vlogmas which is for video bloggers.
It is a great way to push yourself, spread some holiday cheer, and even expand on content you may not usually share on your blog. Not gonna lie I have been ready for this day for well over a month. As I mentioned at the beginning of November we could all use some joy, especially now more then ever, and the holiday season has it in spades!
I am also excited because for the second year in a row I am doing an advent calendar. In fact I have had it since October and my niece keeps asking me when we are going to start opening it. (Now Piper now!)
Giving Tuesday
Today is not just the start of Blogmas, but also Giving Tuesday. This year it is more important then ever to give back if you can. With so many people hurting, I urge you, if you can PLEASE donate, and if you can’t please share some of your favorite organizations and charities that you support, and post to social media which still supports the charities while being free!
While I have always strived to support charities and make a commitment to DO good, this year, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the Actors Fund are especially close to my heart because of the Broadway shut down. So many of my friends are out of work and are struggling due to the pandemic and there is no end in sight. SO PLEASE donate if you can. Thank you and Happy Blogmas!
Are you doing Blogmas? Are you excited for the holidays? What is an organization or cause close to YOUR heart this Giving Tuesday?
