Friday Favorites Take Two
“It’s Friday, Friday
Gotta get down on Friday
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend, weekend
Gettin’ down on Friday
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend” ~ Rebecca Black
First of all I apologize in advance for getting that song stuck inside your head, but Rebecca Black’s It’s Friday is only fitting. I haven’t done a Friday Favorites in awhile (since May!) not only am I due, but I am super excited. I have a lot of things that have become my “Friday Favorites” recently, as well as a lot to be grateful for. (which personally goes hand in hand anyway!)
Running The Reservoir
Perhaps you saw THIS post, if not, no worries, I am sharing it again. I am obsessed with the Reservoir. It has literally been therapy for me and helped me get through a rough patch the last week. I had forgotten how utterly stunning it is. Usually I am a morning runner, but running at sunset has actually been the encouragement I need to push myself farther and get in that running zone.
Taking a leaf (pun intended) out of Mack’s book (check out her Friday Favorites!) Fall definitely counts as a favorite!
Trader Joe’s began to tease us with the over abundance (can there really be an over abundance though?) of pumpkin everything (’tis the season!) hitting the shelves. I am psyched to get to do Fall-esque activities like apple picking, pumpkin choosing, and some leaf peeping. The fact that it is warm whilst doing them makes me so ecstatic! Just being out in nature during this golden and vibrant time makes my heart so happy.
Halo Top Ice Cream
Guyssssss this is THE best ice cream! For realz! Seriously! Okay I know I just sounded blonde and SO basic, but I am serious! I don’t get to caught up in calories, and I believe that you should splurge and enjoy life. But when it is 80 calories a serving AND 320 calories a pint (A PINT!) for ice cream. Choir of angels sing!
I mean let’s be real who REALLY follows a serving suggestion?
And let’s be REALLY honest who eats the whole pint!? (ahem guilty!) This is pleasure without the guilt! And it is SOOO yummy! They have so many decadent flavors but my favorite is the Salted Caramel. Ahhh I am hungry now!
I love that WordPress is so fond of reminding us about our milestones with those cute little banners. A few weeks ago I celebrated eight years on here!
While I joined eight years ago (and had a different and admittedly inanely BORING screen name) I really was not active until about three years ago. As I have mentioned before, I have been on all different platforms and have had blogs all over the place.
I am like the world wide web of bloggers. I should have a blogging passport!
Joking aside I feel like I finally have the blog I want. Perhaps it is because with age comes knowing yourself, more maturity, or what, but I am really happy with how it has evolved and honestly I owe that to the incredible WordPress blogging community and to you my wonderful readers. YOU make this what it is and I am so lucky to have connected with many of you not on just a cyber level, but through meaningful and steadfast relationships. SO thank you!
Blogger babes Unite!
If you follow LifeWithLilRed, you know that Lil Red herself is coming to visit! I am so flipping excited to show her around the concrete jungle. She is one of the sweetest, most authentic people I know and she has literally been my rock the last week. We are gong to have an absolute blast. (and hopefully not get into to much trouble!) I am also super excited because some collaborations are in the works while she is here! Blogging babes unite!
I am also super excited because I just found out Jenny from sitbackandjustlive is also coming to the city! I apologize for all the shattered glass from my screaming, because I am SO flipping excited! This city is never going to be the same! We just need Mack, Brittany and anyone else who wants to join us and it will be an epic bloggers conference! (Making my pitch for 2018. Clear your calendars ladies!)
While I haven’t elaborated, I also have not hidden the fact that I have been going through a difficult time the last couple weeks, and I am incredibly grateful for those who have reached out to me and let me know not only that they are there for me, but how much I mean to them. It might sound conceited but I REALLY needed to hear that right now. I have a hard time opening up and having those people to talk to has been incredibly cathartic.
Knowing they not only have my back in rough times, but are incredibly proud of my accomplishments and are interested during good times means more then they will ever know. This is not a solitary life (I know I say that a lot but it is true) and our successes need to be celebrated together, not separated on a pedestal.
A Bonus Friday Favorites:
My oldest nephew just started his very own blog! It has literally given me all the feels. I remember when I was his age and blogging my heart away on LiveJournal. I would be eternally grateful if you guys would check it out and give him a follow. It is called Adviceagers, and I am so proud of him for starting it.
What are some of your Friday Favorites? Do you have any plans for the long weekend?
