Gilt Travel

On rainy days like today I dream of far away places, tropical and historical. Settings that transport you away for a little R and R. Scratching that travel itch and replenishing the mind and spirit.

We all know about airline discount sites, such as Travelocity and Expedia. But there are also websites for discounted hotel stays in luxurious suites and exotic locations.

Of AirBnB is the En Vogue trend of the moment, heck even Jay Z and Beyonce stayed at an upscale apartment through them for Super Bowl this year. AirBnB is great especially if you are staying for long periods. For shorter trips their is among many websites Gilt Travel.

If you live in a city, you might be familiar with Gilt City offering you a wide variety of activities at discounted prices. I have tried everything from wine tastings to pole dancing to spa treatments. It is great way to experience what the city has to offer as well as meet new people without selling your kidneys.

With Gilt Travel it is along the same lines with reasonable prices at luxurious resorts and spas how can you not spring for that getaway to a secret oasis amongst the dreary April showers?

What are some of your favorite places to travel or you dream about?

I am a country girl living on the Upper East Side of the concrete jungle. My friends call me a modern day Renaissance woman. I have dabbled in a little bit of everything, from being a yoga instructor to holistic chef, to skating coach, to glorified nanny, to student. I am a self admitted coffee junkie. A wannabe mermaid. A wanderluster who dreams of other countries. A fashionista who really does need a bigger bank account. But most important of all, I dream of living in a bungalow by the ocean and being a published writer (in style of course) sipping coffee in the morning and a martini in the evening. I love to meet my readers, so feel free to comment or email me. Happy reading!
