“This is the solstice, the still point of the sun, its cusp and midnight,
the year’s threshold and unlocking, where the past lets go of and becomes the future; the place of caught breath, the door of a vanished house left ajar…” ~ Margaret Atwood
Happy Summer Solstice!
Happy Summer Solstice friends! First, I know, I know, TWO blog posts in the same day? WHO am I? But one, I was a little delayed in getting my birthday recap post out, and two I couldn’t NOT post on the longest most sunshine filled day of the year! Not to mention it is OFFICIALLY summer!
Oh happy happy days! I have legit waited ALL year to say that. And live for this day and season. I know so many people think I am cray-cray, but I am truly happiest when in a summer state of mind and yes that includes ninety degree temperatures. Especially as I am currently freezing, because New England decided to have a cold spell!
Not going to lie, it is a little bittersweet because while it is officially summer, after today the days do begin to get shorter, BUT for today I am choosing to savor it! Especially because it not only is the Summer Solstice, but fittingly enough it is also International Yoga Day, which as a former (but still kind of I guess?) yoga teacher it takes me back to my roots and my beginning days in New York when I had moved there for Teacher Training and got to participate in yoga in Time Square which was an incredible experience! Hashtag Memories! So friends Happy International Day of Yoga AND Happy Summer Solstice. Let’s celebrate summer and all the beauty our gorgeous world has to offer especially at our seashores! And maybe slip in a dancer pose while you are at it!
Do you have any summer plans? Do you make a summer bucket list?
