Friends I have waited for this moment since last October. It is FINALLY spring! FINALLY! Oh be still my heart! Bring on warmer weather and ALL the sunshine! Let us celebrate the blooms that are springing, (pun intended) and the joyfulness of this
Okay yes I might be being slightly dramatic, and I realize if you live on the Northern East Coast chances of it ACTUALLY feeling like spring are extremely rare, though New York is DEFINITELY trying friends, despite the abomination of snow last week, it is TRYING! Cherry Blossoms have been spotted, as have a daffodil or two. And I have never been more excited or ready.
Honestly, I don’t know why. It wasn’t like winter was excruciating, though the last month and a half has certainly made up for what was considered a very mild winter, (New York even had what was considered a snow DROUGHT!) until February when we finally started getting snow. No, the older I get, the less tolerance I have for winter and the more I get excited for days like today, even if it is just a date on a calendar.
Because we all know before there is a Spring in New England, we have mud season, and while mud season isn’t as big of a deal in New York, they do typically have about ten false springs, but ya know what? I will still take it! Because Spring is here and summer is coming!
I am so excited to do all my favorite spring/summer activities from alfresco dining, to hanging out in Central Park, to walks on the beach where I am not freezing, to going to the Botanical Gardens and various nurseries and smelling the blooms. Spring 2023 is here friends and I for one am going to soak it up! Happy First Day of Spring loves! <3
