Happy Thanksgiving! The Act of Gratitude

“Thanksgiving Day is a good day to recommit our energies to giving thanks and just giving.” ~ Amy Grant

Happy Thanksgiving Framily!

What a year it has been and what a crazy way for it to end! Life is crazy and unpredictable and sometimes it can just bleeping suck. But on the other side it is also beautiful, joyful, and exciting in the best ways. It isn’t always fun, but we do have to take the bad with the good and find the slivers of light. Because they ARE there. And those bad moments make us so grateful for the good.

It isn’t easy. Even today when our holiday plans have imploded and we wish we could be with family, it can be difficult to find things to be grateful for. You might even have to dig deep, but they are there. Because there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for. Not just on Thanksgiving, but every day.

I am so thankful for the power of prayer, and words, and music, and family and friends who support me and help me heal. I am so grateful for my body, that I might not always treat well, but I still am thankful it functions. It goes without saying that I am grateful for coffee, it truly is the elixir of life. (also you didn’t think I WOULDN’t go there did you?) I am grateful for the ocean and the sand and beautiful beaches that rejuvenate me. I am grateful for memories that get me through when I can’t travel or grow or see loved ones. I am grateful that regardless of how hard life can be, and I might want to give up, I STILL get to open my eyes in the morning and get the chance for a new day, to start again, to live.

Love and life are two of the greatest gifts we have, and I am so thankful for them this Thanksgiving. I am also thankful irregardless of how hard this year has been, the lessons it has taught me. Because in those insanely difficult moments, I have relearned (because I apparently needed another lesson) to not take life for granted. To not take a bone crushing hug, or a laugh, or a smile, or those silly moments. DO not take them for granted. I think if 2020 has taught us anything it is that.

SO yes, I am grateful for the hard times this year, as well as the good, because they have taught me resilience, and strength, and to laugh and smile through the sorrow, and to celebrate the joy. And the good.

Lastly I am so thankful to all of you who have read and supported me through the years, and supported my little piece of this big cyber world. I am so grateful to all of you and I hope you all have an amazing Thanksgiving, and if you aren’t in ‘Merica, an amazing day. Love you! <3

What are you thankful for? How are you spending Thanksgiving?
