It’s November! (2023!) Christmas and NaNoWriMo

It is November!

Hello friends! Happy November 1! Have you all recovered from the candy rush and spooky festivities of last night? I hope so! While I did pass out candy, I called it a night long before the witching hour, as I had to get up pretty early. Not only is it the first day of NaNoWriMo, it is officially the kick off to Christmas! I know, I know what you are all thinking, it is to early. But friends Halloween is over. And there are only seven and a half weeks until Christmas! The countdown is on! The season is so fleeting, and truly flies by that I am a firm believer in soaking it ALL up!

Also being totally transparent, my Christmas tree has been up for a couple weeks. #Sorrynotsorry

As I jokingly said last night, as I rocked my Christmas Pajama’s and drank out of my Hallmark Christmas movie watching mug, my costume was that of sitting on the couch WATCHING said Christmas movies, and strangely life really did match my “costume.” ‘Tis the season friends!

Happy NaNoWriMo!

November is also the start of NaNoWriMo. A month dedicated to writing and completing a novel or at least 40,000 words, which is also the shortest a novel can be. I have taken part in it for over a decade. But alas, with everything that has been going on, and the tumultuous year on so many levels, I am not sure I will be able to this year. It truly does break my heart. I might attempt some projects I have already written or at least maybe try to do some none work related writing every day. We shall see. I have always dreamt of being an author, and I have so many projects and novels I have written, that are half completed or need to be edited.

This year, I have gotten away from writing, for myself, and it is something that has always brought me joy. Which ultimately is the point of NaNoWriMo. To write. Every day! It doesn’t have to be Pulitzer Prize winning, or even War and Peace. But just the act of writing in of itself is so special and such a gift. Your words regardless of the topic, are YOURS. And yours alone. No AI or other individual can take that from you. (though they have tried) So friends, even if you start late, I hope you do start. And happy writing! And Happy Christmas Season! I hope this month is amazing for you!

Are you doing NaNoWriMo? Are you in the holiday spirit?
