“Christmas, my child, is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give, it’s Christmas.” ~ Dale Evans
‘Tis The Season
Merry Christmas everyone! For those who celebrate, I hope it is a day of joy, celebration and love. And for those who don’t, may you still have an amazing and joyful day filled with love.
While I slacked a bit (or rather a lot) with posting this Christmas season thanks to the creeping crud, it really is the most wonderful time of year. Yes, even for this mermaid! While I am not opposed to seeing Santa in a bathing suit, and having a palm tree instead of a blue spruce, despite the chill, I adore the decorations, the festiveness, the shopping, and yes even for a week, SOME snow. (which in my ideal world promptly melts on January 2)
It seemed to fly by at warp speed. While I did tons of traveling, as well as fighting a viral infection most of the season, which seemed to speed time along, I can not believe it is Christmas Day! It seems like it was only yesterday and not October that Hallmark was just starting their Christmas movies.
It isn’t just the season, this past year and life as a whole has felt like it has garnered super powers and is flying at warp speed. It is both a blessing and a curse when you are trying to prepare for the holidays. Yet somehow, despite all the chaotic and franticness, somehow it all works out. Everything comes together.
Believing
It ’tis the season for believing; whether you believe in God, Santa, Magic, Christmas, whatever is in your heart even if you don’t celebrate this time of year, anything and everything feels possible. Even when it doesn’t, and this time of year isn’t always the happiest for everyone, it still feels like we all try to be a little nicer, a bit more patient, and have more love in our hearts.
It is a sentiment, that should be practiced not just this time of year, but carried with us year round. We all have struggles and grief, the spirit of Christmas makes everything better, even if only for a couple weeks.
Life is full of highs and lows. While as much as I love Christmas and would love for it to come every day, the spirit of it is something we can take with us year round. We can all practice patience. We can all try to be kinder. We can all love harder. And we can all belief that anything is possible because it is. Not just at Christmas…But every day.
Merry Christmas and a very Happy Holidays to everyone!
