Within twenty-four hours we went from Hello Summer to Freezing Winter. Just the day before yesterday, I was running in a tank top and shorts and happily ordering Caramel Frappucinos from Starbucks. Now I am pulling out my down jacket with its faux fur hood (Good thing I didn’t dry clean it!) and rushing to chug every hot drink within my reach.
It is April and it is Thirty-two degrees with wind chills making it feel like it is in the twenties.
What. Is. Wrong. With. Mother. Nature?
I don’t want to engage her wrath, but for all that is holy in nature, it is April and it is freezing. Coming from New Hampshire, with my home town being where the highest winds were ever recorded, I thought I had experienced cold. But nothing beats the New York streets with skyscrapers tunneling the wind.
While the wind might be great for Beyonce. It does nothing for me or my hair.
Oh when will it end?
I realize wanting to wear flip flops in April might be a bit extreme unless you are in the Caymans, but having to wear a down jacket? And gloves? And a heavy scarf?
Disclaimer; I wear scarves regardless of temperature, but today I had to trade in my silk and cotton for wool!
Someone needs to start bribing her.
I even wore boots today! My poor feetsies are fed up with boots They don’t want to see boots until next October! And even then, it might be to soon!
I realize this is a first world problem, but with the weather’s rapid fluctuations, I am ready to dream of far away shores with aqua blue water and islands with sandy shores. I guess I will just have to console myself with pictures and start planning a vacay.
Where should this mermaid go? Because she wants some place sunny and warm!
