Rent the Runway

Every fashionista has dreams of wearing haute couture and heck maybe even strutting their stuff down the runway. While walking down a runway scares the bejesus out of me, I wouldn’t mind a pair of Heidi’s legs.  And those clothes? Forget about it!

I have had the pleasure of being subjected to fashion week and been so close (as in the back row) that I could almost touch the stunning fashion creations. Oh, if I could be a millionairess, or at least have unlimited access to clothes.

Well guess what? I can! And so can you! I am sure you have heard of it. But have you really tried it? Rent the Runway was an amazing business idea started by Jennifer Hyman and Jennifer Fleiss. It makes me jealous with envy at how brilliant it is.

It is an online company that was started in 2009 and has since expanded to several stores in the US. It rents designer dresses and accessories out for ten percent of the retail price. You can wear Badly Mischka and Vera Wang for a steal! What is more, their really is little you have to do, other then ogle and order.

Rent the Runway will send a prepaid bag. They will also dry clean it for you. So all you have to do is wear it and then return it. And maybe try not to drool. They even send you a back up size.

As someone who attends a lot of weddings and black tie events, I hate wearing the same dresses all the time and buying a new one can be so expensive. I also worry because I am a curvaceous four and shorter then short so I always have to have dresses hemmed. Thankfully they have a wide variety of sizes depending on designers that I don’t have to worry. I just have to surf their website, channel my inner Carrie Bradshaw, and have fun.

Have you used Rent the Runway? As always thoughts and opinions welcomed.
