The NaNoWriMo Prelude

The NaNoWriMo Prelude

Happy Halloween my lovely readers! While everyone is getting their goblin and ghoul on, I am preparing for a writer’s dream (or perhaps nightmare?) Though I have written quite a bit of poetry, I don’t often publish it. In fact my last poem was posted a year and a half ago. Oy vey! But when the two AM muse strikes, you go with it. Especially since it IS fitting with what begins tomorrow!

‘Twas the night before NaNoWriMo 2016
Not a word has been seen
And all through the cyber world
The writers mind was swirled
Pondering if she should suspend her account
But then where oh where would her blog posts count?
Her thoughts and jots and oh many musings
Breaking from the aimless wanderings and perusings
For the next month she may be quiet
So don’t riot.
For the fifty thousand word dare has come calling
And it would be a horror if she happened to be stalling.
So if you need her text her a hi
She might even take time to reply with a bye
The insanity has begun
It will not last long
For thirty days
She will have her say
Let coffee help her be less frazzled
So her writing can dazzle
Wish me luck
So I don’t suck
I’ll see you around
I might be surround
By my writings and books
I might even give you a look
At the end
Before I hit send.
The day has begun
So long
My friends
My poem is at an end

Happy NaNoWriMo 2016! <3

K.M. Sutton

I am a country girl living on the Upper East Side of the concrete jungle. My friends call me a modern day Renaissance woman. I have dabbled in a little bit of everything, from being a yoga instructor to holistic chef, to skating coach, to glorified nanny, to student. I am a self admitted coffee junkie. A wannabe mermaid. A wanderluster who dreams of other countries. A fashionista who really does need a bigger bank account. But most important of all, I dream of living in a bungalow by the ocean and being a published writer (in style of course) sipping coffee in the morning and a martini in the evening. I love to meet my readers, so feel free to comment or email me. Happy reading!
