Willie Nelson’s song on the Road Again could be my anthem. Or maybe it should be air and tracks? I am sitting at JFK in Terminal five waiting to fly back to my hometown, for not just one, but two weddings. Love is in the air and I could not be happier for my friends.
I generally have my longest wait time dropping off my checked bag. That held true with this trip. For all the hype, TSA wasn’t to bad thanks to precheck. If you are a consummate jetsetter I encourage you to invest in it! Before precheck, I would always do Jetblue’s even more speed. Either way it saves plenty of time especially at busier airports such as JFK.
Not only will I get my dose of holy matrimony, but I am also hoping to channel my inner mermaid, hike a mountain (or two) get my dose of Maple Lattes (only thing better is Spanish Coffee) and most importantly spend time with my amazing friends and family.
While home is well home, I always try to look at it as a vacation. A chance to do me things. Decompress from the city and crazy people and enjoy a little bit more of nature, and see those who have known me since I was a wee babe.
Everything is perspective, and when I haven’t been home in over two months, it its definitely a get away, even if I am sleeping in my childhood bed which is just as good as any five star one. After the week I have had, not just with food poisoning, but also my credit card stolen, I need some decompressing. Bright side the dress I ordered did go through before they cancelled my card, so I will not be running naked at any ones wedding! I know you and all my friends are grateful for that one!
And yes I am still laughing and smiling despite the vomiting and low-lifes this week. You have too. Life is filled with potholes, some times they catch you, but then you pull yourself up and shake it out – Cue Florence and the Machine.
