“Plaid is always cute and always will be. But only on the bottom. At the top, it makes you look like a farmer.” ~ Jen Lancaster
I feel like Buffalo Plaid is quintessential New England as well as has become synonymous with Christmas. I admit I wasn’t alway a fan of this loud checked pattern, but I am officially obsessed with it now. It is cozy and warm and screams nights in watching Hallmark movies and sipping cocoa, or huddles under a blanket on snowy days. The last few years has seen me expand my buffalo plaid collection, and this year I even did a collage paying homage to the festive print on LiketoKnow.it.
From pajamas to a sherpa lined vest to shirts to a buffalo plaid sherpa blanket, my wardrobe is filled with the red checked print, and I am ready to rock it all winter long, styling it in unique and different ways. After all you don’t have to look like you raided your boyfriend’s closet when you wear this print, not to mention it is insanely flattering!
Sherpa Lined Buffalo Plaid
One of my new favorite combos this season, and honestly I didn’t even know I NEEDED it, is buffalo plaid lined in sherpa. It is the ultimate cozy look, and something I have been wondering if I can get away rocking year round. I mean I can definitely do the Christmas in July thing with it right?
I bought this vest last year, and I think I am even MORE obsessed with it. Not to mention how cozy and warm it is with the addition of the sherpa. Aside from warmth, because functional fashion is always a plus, I can also dress it up, adding some holiday style without going full out to the ugly sweater level.
Y’all are probably sick of me talking about this blanket, but guys it really is the best, softest, coziest blanket and I think what has finally gotten me fully on the buffalo plaid train! Legit I think it is going to stay on my bed year round. No shame when it comes to being cozying!
Buffalo Plaid Hoodie
I feel like this look could be called New York Moves Back to New England During a Pandemic. And not gong to lie I did think about changing the name of this post to that. I shared this hoodie last year which is actually part of a lounge slash pajama set, that I primarily wear out. It is so cozy, while still being chic.
I love pairing it with leggings and Uggs, but to really give it that comfy glam factor, and the fact that I have replaced all my leggings with the Spanx ones, (yes they are that good, and yes I recommend sizing up one) I decided to style it with the faux leather leggings and rock green booties, because this time of year the red and green combo are a must! To finish the look I paired a beanie because you can’t get more New England then that! I love it! It is comfy while adding some glam and oh so festive! Who knows maybe I will rock it when I go back to New York.
Are you a fan of Buffalo Plaid? What is your favorite festive pattern this time of year?
