Fall Transitions
Friends, I am in staunch denial about fall being right around the corner. But while I am not ready, I also can not ignore the fact that it is here as much as Pumpkin Cream Coldbrew is back at Starbucks! You know how much I emphasis versatile fashion. I like to invest in pieces that I can take from casual to a night out, as well as from season to season with a simple change of either shoes, or a jacket. Accessories really are everything! Here are several easy looks that I switched from summer to fall using staple pieces that I wear year round. You really don’t have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe each season. How you style is just as easy as WHAT you buy and with the magic of a few accessories and versatile pieces you can change looks, that are both trendy and classic without killing your piggy bank.
Farm Rio Dress
I love this fun bright colored print dress and rocked it all summer. The linen material kept me cool, while the long sleeves will also keep me warm in the fall months. I switched out my cork wedges, for knee high boots and added a green felt hat for a more autumnal look. I love it and it will even match the leaves as they turn! I am a firm believer that the colder months does not mean you have to wear drab colors, and this look proves that!

Paperbag Shorts
As someone who has never been a fan of shorts, I love these Paperbag shorts and they are great for the office. They are also perfect to take into fall. Pink Lilly even sellls a faux leather pair that has my name on them! I switched out my dusters and paired it with my over sized jacket from lulus that I am obsessed with. And while I do rock it year round it is perfect for the fall! I also have paired them with coatigans for more warmth.

Oversized Jacket
Speaking of my Oversized Jacket, I adore this piece from Lulu’s. To the point you are probably sick of hearing me speak about it but, BUT friends it truly is a great garment, one that doesn’t go out of style! I own it in several colors, and it really is the perfect year round piece! I love pairing it with shorts in the summer, and then pairing it with my staple Spanx leggings in the fall. I also will pair it with a black sweater dress for work. Truly a must have in my wardrobe.

Green Anthropologie Duster
When I bought this duster in the spring, I already had visions of how I would style it in the fall. Switching out my white jeans for my faux leather Spanx leggings and my cork sandals or flip-flops for green booties or knee high boots instantly turns this look from summer to autumn in an instant. I also switched out my straw hat to a green felt one. It might be one of my favorite looks for the fall.

Pink Blazer
You know how much. I have been rocking this pink blazer. I wore it long before the Barbie movie came out and will rock it long after the hype dies down. I love pink and am not ashamed to rock it. I love the style of it and it really can be worn year round. During the summer I wore it with shorts, but in the colder months I will rock it with you guessed it my Spanx leggings or a black dress. It is a nice pop of color amongst all the rusty reds and mustard yellows this time of year.

Maxi Coatigan
Friends you KNOW how much I love a great coatigan. this trend really doesn’t ever go out of style or season. And while last year they finally coined a term for the long maxi sweaters I have been obsessed with for years, I have rocked this look for years. I love a great coatigan because even in the summer months it can be chilly. (hello AC) I love how the longer length balances out shorts, and there is just something about the maxi length with boots and Spanx leggings that pulls it together during the colder months. Yes, this is a piece I rock pretty much year round for an elegant but very cozy look.

How do you transition to fall? DO you have staple pieces you wear year round?
