Fall Fashion
Hello friends! I hope you all had an amazing three day weekend. (If you were lucky to have one!) I also hope you all survived the big power outage last week! HOW did we survive? I had actually meant to post this a week ago, but with social acting all ghostly, as well as being GONE! (Yes I went on a trip, and can not wait to share with you friends!) this post is a little late. Originally I was suppose to post this on National Coffee Day which y’all know is like Christmas to me and I can’t pass up celebrating, but alas I procrastinated. All that being said, it is a good thing that Pumpkin Spice Coldbrew is in season, because my coffee not only makes the perfect accessory and hand warmer, it also works perfectly with this post, which is ALL about fall staples.

With it officially being fall I thought I would share my fall staples and let’s be honest, since I love fashion that is versatile, I have chosen clothes that will take me into the colder months and beyond. I wouldn’t say I have a capsule wardrobe, but many of these pieces would work in a capsule collection given their versatility. While I love fashion, I am that person who once I find an item of clothing I love, will wear it over and over again. I will also buy it in every color they have, because if it works, IT WORKS. Since last year was all about athleisure since we were still in the pandemic, I really I didn’t need to buy much, except for a few staples, like camisoles and a black sweater dress. I did splurge on one piece that has been making its appearance everywhere on my social media because it is JUST that good! So without further adieu here is my fall must haves.

Spanx
First and foremost and this might make me oh so basic, but I sure do love my leggings. I am a former yoga instructor after all, it is a pre-requisite to love leggings! And Spanx faux leather leggings elevates the legging game. (which are pants FYI) I bought my first pair last year, and have since bought two more. (I did size up with the second pair which was the best decision I have made, so definitely size up one!) My only regret is WHY did I not buy them sooner? Not only are they comfortable, chic, and flattering, they come in a range of sizes including petite, so no more buying cropped leggings to wear as pants for us short girls, a necessary life has when you are vertically challenged.

Leopard cardigan
This cardigan is a dupe of its way more expensive counter part that is ALWAYS sold out, especially during that, you know THAT, annual sale. We have all seen this cardigan on social media and friends, their is a reason, because it is JUST that good. And this Pink Lilly one is equally as good if not better because it doesn’t break the bank. I am a firm believer in having a handful of trend pieces (as long as it fits YOUR style), and not only is this trend still going strong, it also functions as a neutral. Yes friends, animal print is indeed a neutral with a little more pizazz.

The T-Shirt Dress
Everyone needs a black T-shirt dress. Or maybe just a T-shirt dress in general, but black IS a great color especially for fall, and I am a former New Yorker. It is another great basic piece that acts as a blank state to style however you wish to. It also is a piece that transitions incredibly well and you can rock year round, adding tights or knee high boots in the colder months.

Camisoles
It sounds so basic and plan, but camisoles, are a necessity especially if you are limiting your wardrobe to a capsule one. And if you are thinking of the latter or at least trying to keep your wardrobe on the more minimalistic side, I recommend sticking with neutral colors, like black, cream, or if you want a pop of color, but still have a neutral, a blush. Or you can be very daring and go with animal print, which like I said above IS a neutral. Camisoles are the perfect layering piece, and are also great year round.

The Jacket of The Season
I already shared this jacket, on this blog, but it really has become a staple in my wardrobe, one that I wear several times a week, because it is THAT good. I did buy it in both grey and green, but the green is probably my favorite, and really pops! Fall is jacket season and having one that sending like a broke record, is versatile is important. This jacket fits that!

Dudley Stephen’s fleece
The hype is real and while it is an investment piece, a Dudley in your closet is definitely a piece you will be reaching for all season long. They truly are the epitome of comfort while still being chic. While I do prefer the longer styles to rock with leggings, they do have a few shorter styles that pair well with jeans and skirts. They also have a smorgasbord of colors, but if you are attempting to hone into that capsule collection, I recommend going with a neutral.

Sweaters
Is it really sweater season if you don’t own a sweater, or even multiple sweaters? I love a good chunky sweater, and much like my Dudleys, that are a bit longer to wear with leggings, tights or even as a dress. They are comfy while keeping you warm on those brisk autumn days, and are versatile enough to dress up or down. I own this one from Lulu’s in a bunch of colors, and am so excited to start rocking it this season again.

Black Skirt
Lastly, a Black Skirt is a must, whether it s faux suede, like mine, or faux leather. It screams fall and much like the other pieces can be dressed up or down. As much as I love dresses (which I own way to many of), a skirt is a more versatile option, as you can style the top multiple ways.

Accessories
A minimalistic wardrobe or capsule collection works, because of accessories. Switching out hats, scarves, booties to knee high boots, and jewelry are the perfect way to change up an outfit while recycling core pieces. Accessories are usually where I will invest my money in. I love a good blanket scarf, and it can instantly transform any outfit. Not to mention as the name says, also use to wrap yourself up in when it is cold! Cozy season really is the name of the fashion game!

What are your fall/cold weather staples?
So many cute things! Alas, it’s almost 9pm and still 80 degrees so I’m afraid I can’t join you in sweater season just yet!
Your wardrobe is literal goals! You always look so well put together xx
