“There’s something about a Christmas sweater that will always make me laugh.” ~ Kristen Wiig
‘Tis the season and if you have a party or a gala coming up, you WANT to look your best. It can be hard to figure out what to wear. I got you covered.

In several pieces I have written about wedding fashion including What DO I Wear!?!? I mentioned I buy many of my cocktail and black tie dresses at BCBG. As expensive as they are, many of their dresses are timeless which if you want to re-wear a dress (yes you can do that and I will tell you how) for events is perfect. They are also amazing quality, which helps if you do want to rewear. Another plus? From November on, they have crazy sales. I bought several dresses for forty dollars! Can not beat that haute couture deal!
Office Parties
The office party is probably the hardest event to dress for. While fun and festive, you also have to channel a more demure, professional side. After all you DO have to work with these people after the night is over. So if it your profession doesn’t include, theatre, dancing, or another art form, I recommend saving the short dresses and crazy partying for New Years. That doesn’t mean you have to stick to boring office attire. You can let your fashion flag fly in subtle ways. Adding a red blouse with a cream colored skirt are simple yet still classy ways to channel your inner festivus. So is adding a lace top with dress pants. You can also spark the holiday cheer with accessories adding a red or green scarf to an outfit.

Galas or Friends Parties
While going the typical LBD route or in this case LRD is a never go wrong staple, it can be fun to shake it up and channel Christmas Spirit with fun colors like red and green. Even wearing white or a sparkly sequined ensemble, can be festive and is sure to garner attention at a party. Cocktail dresses are usually my staple. A short or even midi length dress has enough elegance and class without being over the top at most events. While many galas tend to stipulate white and black this time of year tends to be exempted. I own a gorgeous red gown from BCBG that I always rock out. I just make sure to switch out my accessories and wrap from year to year. While much harder with colors like red and green, depending on what you pair with it, can definitely reimagine any outfit.
Costume Parties
Then of course there is going all out in cosplay with an elf, or Santa or Mrs. Santa, or like my friend did one year, dressing up as Cindy Lou Who. Ugly sweaters and character dressing can be fun creative ways of getting into the spirit. From the down right jealously imaginative, to the classics, Pinterest is the perfect place to look up ideas and channel your inner artist.

New Years Eve
At the end of all the Holiday shenanigans you can not forget the most glitzed out bonanza to end all Holiday celebrations: New Years Eve. New Years Eve is where your funny celebratory side can come out! From lace to sequins, to high heeled stilettos to edgy shoes, it is like the VMA’s for us normal folk.

Do you have any Holiday events to go to this year? What are you wearing?
That green dress is gorgeous! So bright and festive.
Thank you so much! It is one of my winter staples for glam events 🙂 <3
