All the Bling

Hello friends! Apparently I am keeping the Blogmas going strong! Though in my defense I wanted to share some New Year’s Eve outfits just in case you wanted to be glam whether you were going out OR staying in. I have never had more sequins then I have this year which is kind of funny, because there hasn’t been THAT much going out, but there we have it, wearing all the bling. Perhaps I am overcompensating for the very reason I am craving some sequins even if I am having a rave in my own house.

Which it looks like I might be doing that again this year, because oh covid. Thankfully there are no rules that say I can’t get dressed up, and why not get as glammed up as possible? Amiright? Life is to short and to reiterate there are no rules! So however you are celebrating, here are some of my favorite festive and yes, very glitzy inspired New Year’s Eve looks.

Little Sequin Dress

First up is this lil black number that honestly is SO far outside my comfort zone which is why I decided to take a chance on it! New Year’s resolutions haven’t started yet (not that I make them) and already I feel like this might be my yes year, which means going outside my comfort zone, and clothes are a great way to do that! I don’t do short, and like I said up until this year I didn’t do a lot of sequins, but here we are doing both.

I admit I was super worried about this length, but it actually isn’t THAT short, which is shocking. It also fits like a glove, but still incredibly flattering. I love the scalloped edges, and I get ALL of the flapper vibes from this dress, which I love. I stuck with my usual size at Lulus which is a medium, and the fit is perfect. it also has adjustable straps so you can make the neckline as low as you wish. I kept styling simple as this really is a statement dress. It also comes in white which is currently available in all sizes.

Long Black Dress

There is a reason the LBD (Little Black Dress) is so popular and no it isn’t because you are attending a funeral, while this dress isn’t little, I do love the high long aspect of it. The dress itself is on the shorter side, but it then has a long flowing skirt in the back, so you don’t have to worry about bending over. The material is silky smooth and fit is true to size. It is perfect not just for New Years Eve but also a wedding.

Sequin Blazer

I couldn’t not do a New Year’s Eve fashion post and NOT mention this blazer which has been making its rounds this holiday season. It is so festive and while I do occasionally feel totally seventies disco in it, that is kinda the fun of it. I have styled it with everything from dresses, to pants and body-suits. I have also paired it with jeans for a more casual, but still glitzy look. And I have even done the sequins on sequins thing. Fit is true to size and I love how it is longer in length. It really is a statement piece and I feel like everyone needs one in their closet.

Which one is your favorite friends? Or would you go the pajama route because after all have to get some use out of those Christmas PJ’s! In the height of COVID, I would do Fancy Fridays and Zoom with my girlfriends in our finest with some wine. And while we haven’t gone crazy with going out, when we have gotten together, we will occasionally keep up the tradition. (though sometimes it is fancy Wednesday, which I know, I know, doesn’t always flow!) I feel the same way about New Year’s Eve. Whether you are going out or staying in, or even going to bed early (which is probably me because midnight is obscene…but for real!) there is still something to get dressed up for! I hope you all have an amazing week and a very Happy New Year!

What are your Christmas Eve plans? Do you get dressed up? Or are you going to re-rock those Christmas PJ’s and be the epitome of cozy this year?
