My New Obsession
Friends do you remember the jacket of the season? And HOW Obsessed I was with it? (BTW it comes in TWO new colors that are divine, a blush and a mustard!) Well apparently autumn is the time of year for obsessions because I have a new one and this might be one of my favorite things I have shared, not to mention the compliments I have been getting when I wear it. And yes as someone who rejects all things cold, I have been rocking this!
Not going to lie I have been shying away from many of the trends this year, which scream nineties and early 2000’s and since I lived through and rocked them some what ashamedly the first go around. I know, I know, fashion always makes a come back EVEN when it shouldn’t and we are in the era of my childhood, (but also nightmares.) If you couldn’t tell, I am not a fan.
That being said, it wasn’t all bad, and one of my favorite trends to rock back then as a teenager and has continued as an adult has been long sweaters and jackets. I know it sounds funny, as someone who needs a step ladder to reach cabinets in most kitchens, but I love a good long sweater. As someone who is always cold, it makes me feel cozy and warm and like I am wrapped in a big blanket. I have always looked for and gravitated to the longer cardigans and sweaters even when they aren’t trendy.
Hello Coatigan
Well friends, they are trendy now and they have just been given a name; The Coatigan. Which is actually a pretty clever name if I do say so myself. The Coatigan is literally just a long cardigan also known as a maxi sweater with a fancy new name, and I love it and am so happy it is back in style. While I own a bunch of coatigans, and have owned them for years, I just got a new one from Lulu’s that I am obsessed with. It is big, cozy, but oh so chic, AND it has pockets. It has GOT to have pockets of course!
What I love about the Coatigan is it literally goes with anything! From yoga wear, to maxi dresses, to Spanx leggings, it works with anything and everything. I have been pairing it with black dresses for a chic work look, as well as throwing it in my bag when I am traveling in case I get cold. It instantly classes up and makes any outfit cozy. I am so happy it is back in style! Though what am I saying? I would rock it regardless of trendiness. This one is especially divine though!
