What DO I Wear?!?! The LOD: Little Old Dress
“Women who have understood fashion and style for so long have always known it’s not about having more pieces. It’s about having the right pieces and having the pieces that are of a great quality and look like you know what you’re doing.” ~ Meghan Markle
We all have that piece of clothing that we love to rock over and over and over again, until literally we have thousands of pictures and we look like we are wearing the same thing day after day. Which we are…just in different locations.

It is only fitting being an Anthro Addict that my staple piece would be a dress from Anthropologie.
I found this dress four years ago, and instantly fell in love
No it isn’t the dress is not a wedding dress, (though Say Yes to the Dress, BHLDN and I have become bosom buddies…ahem….) but it is definitely THEE dress. Alas the first order of business when I bought it was to get it tailored. Badly. It was about a foot to long. But that did not stop me from coveting this piece.
What caught my eye
While it looks like separate pieces, this maxi dress is just that. A dress. It has a long black skirt with a sexy slit on the side and a grey tank attached to the skirt. Completing the neutral palette is a drapy navy blue slightly off the shoulder shirt attached to the grey. I had never seen a dress designed like this, yet while it is unique, it is done in a simple, casual way.
The cotton material could be clingy, but some how isn’t, hugging and flattering my curves in all the right places! Another bonus is that it is super soft and light weight. It also packs extremely well, becoming the perfect jet-setting piece. Comfy and stylish who can beat that?
This is a more casual piece, while you can dress it up, I definitely do not deliberately rock it any where dressy at night nor do I wear it at the clubs. It does have some seasonal versatility to it, rocking it into the Fall where you could make it edgier as well as give it a slightly more night time vibe, by pairing some sassy cut out booties and a leather jacket, but I digress…this IS a Summer post.
This is the perfect day dress during the summer. While it is a dress, making it harder to shake up the look, I live by the motto, “Accessories. Accessories. Accessories.” They really do make all the difference! Whether it is a hat and a denim jacket, or a kimono and some gems, the neutral palette of this dress, lends itself to a variety of looks, which this blonde fashionista loves!
What do you think of the dress? Do you have that staple go to piece you constantly rock?
