What DO I Wear?!?! The NEW LBD

Anthro Addict

In June, I got royally spoiled and peppered with an arsenal of gift cards and shopping trips to my favorite store, Anthropologie since it was my birthday month. My family, friends, and love, know me well and hooked this girl up, feeding my (only slightly…) Anthro Addicted heart. (#Anthroaddict)

There is something about Anthropologie that gives me all the feels. I mean some of their stuff is way over the top, and ridiculously expensive.

BUT

I always find something there that I love with a price that I love even more. And there is no denying the quality of their clothes. Most of my clothes that are older then five years, are from Anthropologie. Yes peeps, pretty sure their clothes would survive a nuclear bomb. They certainly have survived the wear and tear of New York streets!

Trend Alert

One of the trends for summer is the crop top. I have written about it here and here. It is a trend that either has people celebrating or cowing away in ab inducing shame. It is a trend that only in the last couple years would I dare rock, and oh stomach how I have been rocking thee!

The New LBD

When I saw this ensemble in Anthropologie I was immediately drawn to it. I love things that are versatile, and while the shirt and skirt are a set, you can just as easily style them with other pieces.

It is an updated version of the LBD (little Black Dress) and I am obsessed!

While the skirt is suppose to be a midi skirt, being the legal little person that I am, it falls at the perfect length as a maxi. The elastic rushing at the waist is at once comfortable as well as flattering. It is lined so their is no peek-a-boo here.

I did not think I was going to love the shirt as much as I do. I don’t know about anyone else, but I am ALWAYS yanking off the shoulder shirts down. For whatever reason they do NOT stay in place.

THIS shirt does! I would seriously by this shirt in every color but alas it only comes in black. It hits about mid ribcage and is also super comfortable. Both the skirt and shirt are made out of a soft cotton. This outfit literally makes me want to cuddle up!

Styling it

The LBD in my opinion is super easy to style and this set is no different. Accessories abound with the blank canvas of black. I decided to stick with a boho meets the beach vibe, pairing my staple summer jewelry, one of my favorite kimonos, a rancher hat, and of course my Reef flip-flops which are a staple in my wardrobe. It is both stylish yet still bit of chic, and yes sexy.

What do you think of the look? Do you have a LBD?

  1. I always love your photoshoots, there so active and full of movement! I need to take some lessons from you, I’ve got the stand in one place and pose thing down though haha Off the shoulder is soooo bittersweet for me, like you said they NEVER EVER stay down, but wait did you say an off the shoulder shirt that actually stays down??? MIRACLE! I totally fancy that outfit, you wear it so well. I also love that it’s actually a midi skirt but totally a maxi on you, too funny but either way looks fab!!!!

    1. Awe thanks beauty! (Seriously reading all your sweet comments is making me blush!) Haha I had to start moving around or else I felt like I kept posting the SAME picture!
Right?!??!?! I love it, but hate it! BUT YES! This shirt stays down (Also so does the red one I had worn!) It was a choir of angels belting it out moment! Oh happy days! lol. Thanks sweets! I wore that skirt (and continue to wear it) all the time this summer! Hehe. Yup #Shortgirlproblems Lol.
I have to say the midi length actually does not look that good on me, so if it becomes a maxi I am A-Okay with it! <3
