What DO I Wear?!?! The Perfect Summer Bag

Advertisements

“Once I find a bag that I love, I wear it always. I just don’t change my bags. I literally find one and stay with it.” ~ Cara Delevingne

Back in November, Alaina Marie of Bait Bags fame released a new product. The much awaited tote made of the same material as her clutches and wristlets.

I have already written about her amazing bags, and I can guarantee in many of my What DO I Wear posts, one of my accessories is a Bait Bag. So when she came out with the natural progression of a line of totes, I just about collapsed from excitement and drool. I was ecstatic! I had been hoping against hope that she would come out with one. And finally my fashionista dreams were realized!

I didn’t jump up and order one right away though. One of the reasons I love her products so much, is that you can customize them yourself and I wanted to design my own tote.

Then in February, she came out with a limited edition print that made me KNOW it was the one! The Medina Print Collection was exotic yet still chic and stylish. Meaning “City” in Arabic, it was a deviation from the classic diamond shaped pattern on her bags.

Coming in black as well as white, it was the latter that caught my attention. It reminded me of another tote bag which I had been coveting. A white Louis Vuitton, but with a more nautical, distinctively unique look. Much more in line with this mermaid girls heart.

I knew it would be perfect for my trip to California so I jumped on it, and good thing I did because with in weeks, this patterned sold out.

The tote bag is made of the same lobsterman bait material that the clutches are made of. The bottom of the tote is made of a tan canvas, that makes cleaning easy. It has a brass closure, and is big enough to carry a laptop, yet still small enough to use like a bigger purse. The handles are made of heavy braided rope, that leave me in no doubt that it is strong enough to carry everything and the kitchen sink. It has a small pocket on the inside. for slipping keys and metro cards in for quick easy access.

I am seriously in love with this bag. It is such a staple piece, with the colors going with literally my entire wardrobe yet channeling that nautical theme I love so much without being tacky.

If you haven’t checked out her products you need too! Good-bye Louis, Kate, And Tory. And hello Alaina-Marie!
